Netball york profile

Netball netball netball!

We are an easy-going club welcoming absolutely everyone (unless you are male). Here are just a few reasons why I think YMNC is awesome:
  • Get to play a cheeky slice of netball
  • Enjoy a run around to work off that hangover, even if you can’t catch.
  • Get fit – work off those extra cals we all seem to gain après Summer/Christmas/Easter (all the time really…)
  • Take a break from medicine; add some variety!
  • Meet new people, especially the upper years who you wouldn't normally get to know
  • Enjoy a good social
  • Get in touch with your inner fancy dress nerd
  • Meet some fit (lol) footballing medics
  • You want my PBL notes
We have two teams entered into the North Yorkshire League; one team just promoted to division 5 (woop!) and the other holding steady in division 7. There are other options if you don’t want to play in competitively in the league too. Social wise, we have regular socials in our lovely city of York. The Lowther are our sponsors so we tend to frequent them a fair bit. We travel to Sheffield every year to play in a friendly tournament, and of course enjoy an epic night out with them. Last season we also hosted Sheffield on tour to York…incredible fun! All abilities really are welcome – we have girls who have never played netball before uni and those who have played at county and regional levels; it really is for everybody. Phase 2 and 3 York rotations – if you want to play in the league whilst here and or come to training/socials, please feel free. Drinkers and non-drinkers, gingers and non-gingers welcome.
