Football in YorkYork Medics Football Club is the York Campuses Medic football team. We are open to players of all skill level and dedication catering for for this with two teams, the Firsts and Seconds. Training timesTraining occurs on Fridays at 6:30 pm every week. This year, training will be occurring in the indoor pitches at York University Sports Centre, essentially James College.
As president I oversee the general state of the club and meet with all the committee members to make sure everything runs smoothly. As first team captain I am essentially responsible for selecting and organising the squad for games. I keep an eye on the improving seconds players and monitor how everybody is developing, selecting the team based upon this. I intend to improve the current squad (plus any freshers) into a team which can get us promoted…
As joint 2nds team captains, our role is to make the club accessible to anyone who wants to play football in the medical school. We accept players of all ability and play regular matches against York college teams. We are looking forward to a competitive and hopefully successful 2014 season
