The HYMS Sports Association (S.A.)
Set up by Dr Dan Winson (a former HYMS student), the SA has become well established over the past few years and has rapidly grown to be the biggest club in the Hull Athletic Union. The SA proves to be a massive asset within the Medical school. We try to arrange sport around our timetable to give you guys a much earned break from studies.
The HYMS Sports Association offers you the opportunity to participate in a number of sports within an ever growing and improving organisation. We offer Rugby, Football, Netball, Hockey and Racquet Sports, amongst others, and your membership allows you to take part in as many, or few, of these as you like. Our teams take part in national events against other universities, local leagues and from this year you will have the chance to represent HYMS abroad with a tour to Spain!
The Sports Association is open to every HYMS student, from the experienced athlete to the absolute beginner. All teams are inclusive and welcoming, with everybody having the chance to get involved. Alongside sports, the SA offers one of the most socially active calendars of any society. Regular nights out, organised inter-team events and meals mean you’ll be able to relax and meet both medics and non-medics at the same time.
- To ensure all members are contributing to the SA, meaning we can offer more than ever to club members.
- To modernising the structure of the SA; we’re 10 years old and have more people than ever getting involved in HYMS Sport.
- Becoming a more financially responsible society
